Prof’s Dirty Work Tour Feels Like Family

Boulder, Colorado, October 29: Wednesday night’s stop on Prof’s Dirty Work Tour at the Boulder Theater wasn’t just another show — it was a homecoming. It was packed, sweaty, loud as hell, and heartfelt. The night had been sold out for months. From the second the lights dimmed, you could feel electricity buzzing through the crowd.

The Dirty Start

The evening opened with Willie Wonka, Prof’s official DJ. He set the tone with a heavy-hitting, genre-blending mix of hip-hop bangers and old school favorites. He didn’t just play tracks; he performed them, bouncing across the stage, cracking jokes, and keeping the energy high with pure charisma. The love in the room was immediate. This was a crowd that came ready to go off.

Reeves Junya followed, and he brought raw emotion and lyrical precision to the stage. His set balanced high-energy flow with real, grounded storytelling — the kind of performance that makes you feel every word. His authenticity hit hard, and you could tell the crowd respected the honesty he poured into every verse. He didn’t just perform; he connected.

Then came Snotty Nose Rez Kids, and they turned things completely upside down. Even with one of the guys rocking a broken ankle and performing from a chair, they commanded that stage like a storm. Their chemistry, humor, and political edge hit all at once, and the Boulder crowd fed on it. Mosh pits broke out, fans screamed along, and somehow, even from a seated position, they managed to out-energize half the industry.

A Prof Family Reunion

By the time Prof hit the stage, the anticipation was thick. The roar when he stepped out was deafening — it honestly rivaled the energy of his first ever headliner show at Red Rocks earlier this year.

And somehow, even in this smaller, more intimate venue, that same larger-than-life energy filled every inch of the Boulder Theater. For fans who had been at both shows, it felt like a family reunion — the same faces, the same love, just a tighter, sweatier, more personal version of the Prof experience.

Despite being sick and clearly battling a strained voice, Prof gave everything he had. Song after song, he hit the crowd with bangers that had everyone shouting every word back to him. The thousand-person audience didn’t just sing — they screamed. You could feel how much this music means to people.

To save his voice for the last three shows of the tour, Prof leaned into what he does best: crowd connection. His “Prof-aoke” segment — where fans took the mic and tried to keep up with his flow — was hilarious and heartwarming all at once. It was chaos, sure, but the best kind. It’s the type of thing that makes a Prof concert so unique — unpredictable, interactive, and always genuine.

A Pause for Gratitude Before the Next Chapter

At one point, Prof mentioned that this would be his last American tour for a few years, sharing that he’s been grinding nonstop for nearly five years straight. You could feel the emotion in the room when he said it — a mix of pride, gratitude, and a little heartbreak. It added an extra layer of meaning to every song that followed, as if everyone there realized they were witnessing the end of a major chapter.

That’s what makes Prof so special. He’s independent, he’s real, and he’s built this empire completely on authenticity and hustle. There’s no label polish — just pure artistry and connection. He jokes, he rages, he gets vulnerable, and somehow manages to make everyone in the crowd feel like they’re part of it all.

And his team deserves huge credit too. From management to the merch booth, everyone carried that same warmth and accessibility. They weren’t hiding backstage — they were out in the crowd, talking, laughing, and sharing the moment. That’s the secret sauce. It’s not just a show; it’s a community.

Dirty Work, Done With Love

By the end of the night, nobody wanted to leave. The chants, the smiles, the post-show hugs — it all felt like a sendoff and a thank-you rolled into one. For fans who’ve followed Prof from the underground to Red Rocks, this Boulder stop wasn’t just another concert — it was a celebration of how far he’s come, and how tight-knit his fan base has become right alongside him.

Final Thought: Even under the weather, Prof brought the same fire and heart that’s carried him through five years of touring. The Dirty Work Tour stop at the Boulder Theater was proof that real artistry doesn’t need fancy production or a major label — it just needs heart, humor, and hustle.

Tyler, the Creator Brings Chromakopia to Ball Arena

Tyler, the Creator is heading out on a highly anticipated tour in 2025. Chromakopia the World tour spans North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand — and Denver is the second stop. Coming through to Ball Area on February 11th, Tyler, the Creator is celebrating his eighth studio album of the same name. As such, you should get ready for some fun.

Tyler Gregory Okonma aka Tyler, the Creator is a rapper, singer, producer, designer and festival organizer. His raspy voice and lyrical prowess have defined his career. In the 2010s, Okonma emerged as the leader and co-founder of the Odd Future collective. His ingenuity led to him having a hand in many of the alternative rap crew’s releases. He also worked tirelessly on his solo creations.

Tyler, the Creator Discography

Okonma created his first album, Bastard, while still collaborating with Odd Future. It introduced him to the world as an indie musician. His next two albums juxtaposed violence and crudeness with lovable charm. While they were well received on the Billboard charts, media scrutiny might made you suspect otherwise.

From there, Okonma shifted his sound to include jazz, R&B and soul. Subsequent albums Cherry Bomb, Flower Boy, Igor, and Call Me if You Get Lost featured this new sound, with the last two albums each earning him a Grammy.

His newest release, Chromakopia, deviated from Okonma’s norm of putting two years between each album as it took three. His eighth studio release, this album features dialogue from his mother interspersed between the songs. Exploring the idea of an alter ego called St. Chroma, Chromakopia is a storytelling wonder, full of creative lyricism and self-reflection. It’s peak Tyler, the Creator as it details where he’s been, where he hopes to go, and all the bumps along the way. Okonma took his time with this one, and it was definitely worth the wait.

The venue formerly known as Pepsi Center, Ball Arena is an indoor, state-of-the-art venue in Denver. It’s host to many events like concerts, sports games, and special events and it’s home to sports teams Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoth. It’s clean and easy to get around with plenty of space. Try to be close to the soundboard for the ultimate listening experience.

This show will dive deep into who Tyler, the Creator is, and why he is who he is. It’s the ideal concert to start 2025, if you ask me. Make sure you get your tickets to see Tyler the Creator’s Chromakopia World Tour on February 11th at Ball Arena.

Love, Nostalgia and Homage: The ’90s Onward with Ice Cube at Broadmoor World Arena

Ice Cube at Broadmoor Arena in Colorado Springs

There are few who know rap and hip-hop as well as one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time: Ice Cube. Cube (aka O’Shea Jackson Sr.) is known not only in rap (N.W.A. and solo) but also in film and television (Lethal Injection, Boyz n the Hood, the Friday series).

Since Cube’s solo debut in 1990, the last 30+ years have been prosperous for the legend and the friends he has made along the way. With that friendship close in mind, the tributes every performer made at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado kept the crowd jiving.

Icons and Legends

In his early teens, Ice Cube took an interest in music and began writing lyrics on his own, selling his first song to Eazy-E. Together with Dr. Dre they would help found N.W.A. 30 years have passed by, and still going strong, Ice Cube and friends pay tribute to past legends now resting in paradise.

All acts spoke about gangsta rap in its beginning and its evolution into widespread acceptance today. Never forgetting where everything started, Ice Cube has consistently proven that his roots are more than just solid. The progression of success between rap groups with which he’s been involved means the sky is the limit for his latest collaboration project known as Mount Westmore. The group only has one album out so far, with a small handful of singles on the side.

Honoring Roots

Each of the performances at Broadmoor was high in energy, leaving bodies bumping to the groove when given room. The first man onstage for the night of hype was Westside Boogie. Throwing in his own remixes and shout-outs to legends like Biggie and Eazy (a recurring theme through the night), he brought the energy to the stage and got us ready for the next big act. In between songs, he even brought a fan up onstage for a quick burst of freestyle.

We were hyped from the start of the show, and then Bone Thugs-n-Harmony took the reigns. They hit hard with their signature chopper rap. The night continued with the crowd swaying, screaming, and the crowd throwing up Ws. People made friends with the strangers beside them, rapping in time with the main acts.

Like a moth to a flame, Ice Cube came on stage and showed us who started the game. He performed tracks like “No Vaseline,” and even explained some of the history behind some of them. He delved into his personal history with Dre and Eazy with no negativity. Cube spoke of where he got his start and held a smile the whole night. Homage was paid to Eazy, Biggie, 2Pac, and all other greats lost over the years — but never forgotten. To wrap the whole show up, Ice Cube checked and made sure “Today Was a Good Day.”

Timeless Ice Cube

Ice Cube may always focus his own solo act, but it won’t be entirely exclusive. He’s currently headed on tour with the rest of the members from Mount Westmore, a rap supergroup formed in 2020. With no plans to stop any time soon, Ice Cube continues to be a creative powerhouse in his home genre.

Cube is a great example of the adage “if you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life.” At the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, he showed his love for the fans and gangsta rap itself.
