You know that energy right before taking that big step into your next adventure? Well, that’s what it felt like to walk up the stairs at Dead Rocks. Zeds Dead has been headlining Red Rocks for over a decade, and this year — magical number 11 — they brought nothing but the best energy for the crowd.
Zeds Dead are a Canadian duo made up of Dylan Mamid and Zachary Rapp-Rovan. Both are from Toronto and have been coming to Colorado to celebrate and at Red Rocks for 11 years. They started back in 2009, cutting remixes of old songs and creating pure magic. Well, they have carried that magic through over 15 years of music.
Throughout night one, they brought out amazing talent from all over the world and really enriched listeners with a lot of UK garage culture. Zeds Dead delivered an amazing variety of wubs and tech house. They brought out artists like Rudim3ntal, who came straight from the airport, fresh from the UK. The vibes were high from the moment doors opened with Shosh on the decks, and they held through to the iconic duo’s set.
Both days had everything you could have wanted, from all the different genres to the colorful people who helped bring the energy and keep it flowing. Not even a little bit of rain could have stopped the their fervent fan base.
Zeds Dead played amazing throwbacks to brand new music off their latest album, Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness. They also played some of the iconic songs like “Stars Tonight” and “Rude Boy.” There was something for everyone.
This all led them up to the annual Jamboree on the 4th of July in Denver. Let’s just say they set an amazing tone for the whole week, and Zeds Dead will always be welcomed with open arms in the Bass Capital.
