Don’t you love when you walk into a venue and you can feel the electrifying vibes in the air? Seeing the ceiling filled with shimmering chandeliers, the dance floor filled with love and connection, and then, on stage, three unique souls merging to create beautiful music filled with emotion it just makes you feel some type of way, right? Well, Tinlicker (comprising Micha Heyboer, Jordi Van Achthoven, and Hero Baldwin) brought that to the Filmore Auditorium on Saturday night.
Helsloot (full name Misja Helsloot) opened up the night on a high note with a magical trance sound that really got people moving. It was wild to see the dance floor fill up as soon as he took the stage. Steeped in the old school sounds, Helsloot started his career in 1992 and has worked with big names like Tiësto, which helped him launch his own label, C4 Records.
Hot off their European tour, both Helsloot and Tinlicker brought amazing vibes to the Fillmore. They had been traveling on a bus all over Europe, basically living with each other, which allowed them to really hone in and plan something special for their U.S. appearances.

Nothing prepares you to witness a Tinlicker set. They brought an insane amount of passion and bliss to the stage. Seeing two people work in synchrony to create the kinds of beats sounds that filled the room was extraordinary. Then, to top it off, they had an amazing singer to keep the crowd alive — something you rarely experience from a dance music act.
They kept the production simple with only a couple of lasers and spotlights, which meant everyone was really there for the music. Hearing the crowd sing favorites and dance with strangers who became friends by the end of the night was really what made Tinlicker’s performance special.
The cherry on top was that, at the very end, Tinlicker and Helsloot came out together to play a few of their collabs, and that’s something no one was expecting. To say this night was a night full of pure euphoria is an understatement.
