Festival season is well underway, but some large-scale gatherings are still announcing their lineups. Lollapalooza is one of them. The Grant Park, Chicago gathering is coming back from July 30th to August 2nd, and its organizers have just shared a spate of headliners from across the music spectrum.
Pop in particular features heavily on the Lollapalooza 2026 lineup. Experimental UK electro-pop songstress Charli XCX, New Zealand art-pop superstar Lorde, and Canadian rising star Tate McRae — originally of So You Think You Can Dance fame — all add to the festival’s staggering draw.
But in keeping with Lolla tradition, no shortage of hip-hop acts can be found on the bill. Between Philadelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert, Indiana emcee Freddie Gibbs, West Coast DJ Mustard, and British lyricist Little Simz, the genre looks to be well represented at Grant Park this summer.
No festival nowadays is complete without a heaping helping of EDM, and the Lollapalooza 2026 lineup reflects that. Catering to the house heads are John Summit and Disco Lines, with the WORSHIP collective holding it down for drum and bass and Know Good delivering some dubstep. Even techno acts like Boris Brejcha and Eli Brown are on the bill!
And rock’s not dead yet if Lolla has anything to say about it. Chicago grunge mainstays The Smashing Pumpkins leap out from the lineup graphic. Ditto for avant-garde trio The XX, who hail from London. Even Swedish post-punk group Viagra Boys will be there to demonstrate that the genre has plenty of rebellious spirit left.
Founded in 1991, Lollapalooza initially served as a farewell tour for organizer Perry Farrell’s band, Jane’s Addiction. It proved successful enough to bring back again and again, billing some of grunge’s most subversive acts. After a hiatus from 1997- 2003, it transitioned into a one-off Chicago event catering to a wider variety of music fans.
Ticket presale goes live on Thursday, March 19th at 10am CT. Sign up to receive updates on the Lollapalooza website.
