Wax Motif is once again taking over Mission Ballroom in Denver this October. On Friday the 13th, he returns to the iconic venue for his House of Wax Tour. Touted as the ‘bad boy of house music,’ Wax Motif is more than just one sound. His sets are full of genre-expansive house music, and he takes you on a musical journey with each one.
An L.A. resident by way of Australia, this DJ and producer gained popularity by being a big proponent of the G house movement. Not only that, but he’s always had a steady stream of releases on reputable labels. Danny Chien aka Wax Motif has also collaborated with many artists and sold out many shows to get to where he is today.
A real go-getter, Chien isn’t one to sit around and wait. He’s the kind of person who makes stuff happen. Case in point: his label venture, Divided Souls Records.
He launched the imprint with a bomb-ass banger of the same name featuring none other than “Bad Boy for Life” Diddy. The perfect inauguration for his label, “Divided Souls” is a chunky, bass-laden house track. It features Diddy espousing wisdom that reflects Chien’s vision for the label. The song is peak Wax Motif, fusing his love of both rap and house in such a poignant way. This beat, and his label, show the world exactly what he’s all about.
And of course, he’s playing Mission Ballroom. Nestled in the RiNo district of Denver, this venue boasts an almost 4,000-person capacity with state-of-the-art sound and lighting. Created as a space focused solely on live music, the venue can undergo a multitude of configurations. All feature a large dance floor, which will indeed be packed with diehard Wax Motif fans. And with so many setup options, the ballroom offers patrons an ideal view anywhere in the house.
No better setting exists to catch Wax Motif, so grab your tickets today. And when I say he sells out most events, I mean it. This event is on Friday the 13th, but it’ll be your lucky day, as you’ll see Wax Motif for the House of Wax Tour at Mission Ballroom.
