On October 21st, Mission Ballroom will host two of the most unique artists in the world for one night only. Thievery Corporation will bring their live electronic act to share the stage with the incredibly original DJ Shadow.

From the Black Rock City of Burning Man to Meow Wolf’s Taos Vortex festival and now on a tour that brings their unique mix of rock, reggae, and electronic music to Colorado, Thievery Corporation create lifelong fans at every step. It’s nearly impossible to explain their sound — even harder to compare them to anybody else. They will wow you not just with their power but also with their energy playing together. The fun they have on stage is evident.

Opening for them is an artist who seems to change music every time he touches it. Whether touring and making music with the powerful rap duo Run the Jewels or playing his own creations, DJ Shadow has remained on the forefront of music since his debut in 1996. His debut album, titled Entroducing. . . is a combination of hip-hop, breakbeat, and electronica. All of those sounds seem to follow us no matter where we go. It was a masterpiece that changed music.

Shadow is not just a musician or a DJ but also a maestro of electronic sounds. He’s more of a magical conductor, controlling the music and the crowd that connects all of them together. Few DJs come more highly recommend thanks to his musical spontaneity. Put him on the bill with such an act as Thievery Corporation and it’s a show worth writing about.

Set in the beautiful Mission Ballroom ten days before Halloween, the night will bring out the spooky sort of ghouls this music naturally attracts. You won’t find a better crowd in which to lose yourself, if only for just one night. Buy your tickets through AXS for $61 after fees.

These are two legendary acts coming to Denver for one night only. Go early, stay late, and support two members of an ever-growing and ever-evolving culture created through sound: DJ Shadow and the Thievery Corporation.
