World-renowned electronic duo ODESZA have spent all year on a massive North American tour for their fourth studio album, The Last Goodbye. Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, along with their drumline and production team, have hit the biggest stadiums on the continent for multi-night runs in many cities.
Thankfully for those who didn’t get a chance to see it (or for fans who are craving another set), The Last Goodbye Tour isn’t over just yet. This summer, ODESZA are bringing a finale series to four U.S. cities. Colorado fans (at least, those lucky enough to snag a ticket) can catch The Last Goodbye Finale at the historic Folsom Field in Boulder on June 29th.
The Finale Tradition
With this announcement, ODESZA continue a tradition that started during their 2018 A Moment Apart Tour: closing each chapter with a live finale. But while the A Moment Apart finale was a single night in Los Angeles, The Last Goodbye finale will be even bigger. And the demand is certainly there.
Tickets for the Boulder date did not even last until general on-sale. All 40,000 sold out during presale alone.
Fans are hungry for more ODESZA for a multitude of reasons. For one, the production on The Last Goodbye Tour was immaculate. The ODESZA team turned up the volume on their perfectly choreographed drumline, spectacular firework display, and custom visual package. Their hits, like the album’s anthemic lead single with Bettye LaVette, offered some of the best dancing one can find in a stadium.
Second, while ODESZA typically keeps the show consistent throughout each tour, we know there will be slight tweaks that make all the difference. Fans are hopeful to catch recently released tracks, like their housey summer drop “In The Rain.” Others are seeking their remix of Sudan Archives’ “Selfish Soul,” which has only been played at select performances.
ODESZA also released an entire EP last July: Flaws in Our Design with vocalist Yellow House. Since this indie-inspired EP is so different from the rest of The Last Goodbye, it would be a treat to hear on this tour.
While it’s a tall order to open for EDM superstars like ODESZA, Folsom Field has a lineup of artists ready for the task at hand. First up is Australian DJ Golden Features, perhaps better known as one half of ODESZA’s darker side project, Bronson. He’s sure to open the night with heavy dance beats, perhaps also infusing his set with some Bronson tracks.
Next up is iconic rapper Big Boi. While he is famous for his work in Outkast, Big Boi is also a force as a solo artist. He’s no stranger to this scene thanks to his side project with electronic rockers Phantogram (plus a feature from Skrillex).
As direct support, Canadian duo Bob Moses are certain to get the crowd moving. They’ve racked up millions of plays on deep house cuts like “Inner Light” with Elderbrook and “Afterglow” with Kasablanca. They’re a perfect fit to help close the tour for ODESZA’s most-house-focused album yet.
ODESZA’s last tour date of the year in Colorado is a can’t-miss event for fans of the group. While the demand clearly exceeded ticket supply, we hope to party with the entire Colorado ODESZA family at Folsom Field on June 29th. Without a doubt, ODESZA will say goodbye to The Last Goodbye Tour with a bang!
