Tantok to Save the Day With Headline Set at Your Mom’s House

Tantok is at the tipping point every house music DJ and producer works to achieve.

With releases on labels like HOT GROOVERS, Blanco y Negro, and Ego Italy, it was only a matter of time before he started topping event lineups. On August 26th, he will perform just such a milestone set at Your Mom’s House (YMH) in Denver.

Earlier in the same day as his YMH performance, Tantok (real name Arias Goldanloo) will play a DJ set during the second annual Shine Music Festival at Reelworks. He was initially billed for a direct support slot at the YMH after party for Ben Spalding, who runs the aforementioned HOT GROOVERS.

When Ben had to pull out of the gig, however, Arias was the obvious shoe-in as he released the 2022 single “Movie Star” on the English DJ’s label. Arias is headliner material — anyone who knows him can attest to that. As he takes to the stage and whisks the crowd away on a journey through the soothing melodies of house music, people are bound to ask themselves: Why hasn’t this happened sooner?

Who is Tantok?

Long before Tantok was a glimmer in his eye, Arias absorbed musical influences from his grandmother, a successful pianist and singer. As he came of age, he formally studied recording arts, bass guitar, and piano at University of Colorado Denver.

Arias went on to study music history and audio engineering in Auckland, New Zealand. It was during this time that his sound signature truly came into its own. Lying somewhere in the universally resonant space between deep house, tech house, slap house, and melodic techno, his style culminated in a March 2020 debut single titled “Berlin” on Jendex Records out of Germany.

The years since have seen something of a whirlwind for Tantok. His releases on HOT GROOVERS, Blanco y Negro, and Ego Italy have garnered support from superstars like Hardwell, DJ Paige, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. After sharing the stage with the likes of Mat Zo, Kraak & Smaak, and Wassu as well performing at Amsterdam Dance Event in the Netherlands and Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the timing couldn’t be better for his debut headline set.

A Good Cause

For Arias, though, the opportunity is about something much bigger than himself.

Shine Music Festival is a revolutionary, new event concept intended to make live music more accessible to people with disabilities. The gathering’s organizers go above and beyond Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and standard practices, using cutting-edge technology to create a space in which all can truly partake in a collective experience. All proceeds from the festival as well as its after party at YMH will go to Shine Music, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization behind the innovative event.

“This upcoming festival is meaningful to me in multiple ways,” Arias tells Party Guru Press. “The way Shawn Satterfield has integrated Shine into the community is truly special, and you can tell she has a lot of passion for what she’s doing. They’ve honored me with a prime time slot for the festival and a headlining performance at the official after party, so I’ll be able to showcase my deeper melodic side in the festival and spin more aggressive nightclub tracks for the late show.”

For so many reasons, Shine Music Festival and its after party at Your Mom’s House promise moments not to miss for anyone following Tantok’s recent rise. You can find tickets and other information about the festival here, and about the after party here.
