The Sweet Lillies Are Coming To The Fox Theatre
The ever-such collaborative band The Sweet Lillies, is based in Boulder, Colorado. They are known for their harmonizing, ethereal, and most importantly their unique flavor on the bluegrass genre. Forming in 2013 has given them the experience, that has allowed them to share the stage with the biggest names in the scene. Some of these names include Left Over Salmon, The Infamous String Dusters, and even, The String Cheese Incident. Now, The Sweet Lillies have their sights to return home and play their strings out on March 17th at the Fox Theatre.
The Creation Of The Sweet Lillies
In 2013, Julie Gussaroff’s idea was to have a band that performs as one unit, she wanted a band with an incomparable bond. A year later in 2014, Julie found the second member, Becca Bisque. Becca brought her powerful vocals that carried the vibe perfectly through. Then, The Sweet Lillies went on tour to a campground jam at the Hangtown Ball in 2017. This is where they found the talented guitarist, Dustin Rohleder.

The Present Of The Sweet Lillies
Forced to postpone their quickly treading success due to COVID-19, they have had to navigate on how to pick up where they left off. Now, they are going on tour. Some of the tour dates include Brothers Comatose. Their tour will challenge the waters and go across the nation hitting the largest markets in the Bluegrass scene, which are in Portland, Eugene, Seattle, Jackson, and many more. This will be their year to grab the strings and bring that jam attitude to masses across the country. We’re lucky that The Sweet Lillies are choosing to kick off the tour in their hometown of Boulder, Colorado. This will bring a unique experience as they test the waters again and release that pent-up energy.

What Is In Store For Us At The Fox Theatre?
You can go check out their latest album, “Common Ground” with the help of Tim Carbone from Railroad Earth, makes it special that they get to start this tour at the Fox Theatre. They are currently in the studio working on their fourth studio album. Helping with production on the album is Chris Pandolfi of the Infamous Stringdusters. Album name and release date are still TBD.
Going off their recent Instagram posts, it may seem that we have some new songs in store for us. Andy Thorn from Leftover Salmon said “Today, at a Lillies show, you’ll hear everything from their beautiful, soulful originals, to creative reinventions of your favorite 90s hip-hop tracks. They’re always ready to have fun – on stage and off – without losing an ounce of their professionalism.” Already becoming a big player on these lineups, this will be a show not to miss.

The Future Looks Bright
This is only the start of their return to the limelight, as they make a comeback from COVID-19. With so many big names that recognize their talent, we can only assume that The Sweet Lillies won’t stop here. Like many jam bands from before, more nationwide exposure at these festivals only creates more opportunities. We’re fortunate that we can see them at such an intimate venue with the Fox Theatre. In the words of The Sweet Lillies, “We can not express how grateful and excited we are to get back on the road”.
