Boogie T.rio:
BOOGIE T.RIO is the next phase in the evolution of Boogie T – a live band consisting of Boogie T on vocals/guitar/keys, longtime friend and musical cohort Frank ‘Animal Drums’ Castro on drums, and New Orleans-based musical virtuoso Andriu ‘Yano’ Yanovski on keyboard and synth bass. The band made their debut at Electric Forest in 2018, and have since gone on to perform at Red Rocks, Voodoo Fest, Lost Lands, and Camp Bisco, complete two North American headline tours, and release several well-received EPs.
Manic Focus:
The Manic Focus Band is the live instrument fusion of the electronic music project of John “JmaC” McCarten, a Denver-based producer with roots in funk, soul, and new-era hip-hop. A multi-dimensional artist with a rowdy style that spans multiple genres, Manic Focus fuses soulful blues with heavy-hitting bass, creating a tone that’s entirely his own. The Band include instrumentalist and producer Marvel Years on guitar joined with the legendary percussion of Colby Buckler (Marvel Years Trio, Emancipator Ensemble).
Originally hailing from the Twin Cities, JmaC grew up with classical piano lessons from an early age, developing a trained musical ear and laying the groundwork for his future in beat production. In his teen years, he developed a deep appreciation for hip-hop music, citing musical influences such as Atmosphere, Brother Ali and MF Doom. In high school, JmaC began producing hip-hop music using Logic software, making beats for his friends to rap on. He transitioned into making electronic music 5 years later, combining his love of hip-hop with electronic sound design and future bass influences. For Marvel Years, An instrument that has been a source of respite, joy, excitement, and insight since he was only 10 years old in Vermont: the guitar. Buckler “has been playing drums for as long as I can remember”.
Over the last 10 years, JmaC has released six full-length albums, each one a new evolution in sound and approach. The producer continues to push himself to new musical limits by incorporating original, sample-free recordings, which is especially apparent in the material from his last full length album Lost in a Digital World, released in September of 2019. Since then, JmaC has released 15 singles and a handful of EPs, including collaborations with Break Science, Mersiv, SoDown, K+Lab, ProbCause, and Marvel Years. McCarten has also completed a slew of official remixes for notable artists such as Louis the Child, Zed’s Dead, Pretty Lights, GRiZ, The Floozies, Umphrey’s McGee, PLS&TY, Lettuce, and Minnesota. Recent live highlights include performances at Lollapalooza, Hulaween, North Coast Music Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, Camp Bisco, Wakaan Festival and Summer Camp Music Festival. Previous performances of note include Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, The Gorge Amphitheater in WA and numerous Red Rocks performances supporting Zhu, Emancipator, Pretty Lights and more.

Kruza Kid and Manic Focus Release the Banger “Daze”

Born and raised in Denver Colorado, Kruza Kid is a force to be reckoned with. He is a lyricist that has hooks that jump out and stick with you immediately. What do you get when you pair this with the groovy sensations of Manic Focus? You get a combination that is bound to make you hit that repeat button loop. “Daze” is going to be an instant hit on speakers across the Mile High city, as it has everything that can keep the audience entertained.

Manic Focus and Kruza Kid A Match Made In Heaven

With both of them rooted in Denver Colorado and having their respective following, it is just a matter of time till we got this rip-crushing match. The funky grooves that Manic Focus is known for are especially prevalent on “Daze”, which instantly is met with the conscious lyrics that make Kruza Kid such a force. Immediately following we’re met with heavy bass to switch the beat up. All of this is happening while we’re still getting treated to the mid-western guitar in the background. This helps create the stability of the track, while also providing a fantastic theme.

The track offers a level of uniqueness that can be so heavy and relaxed at the same time. It’s certified to be flexible on any track list, and also leaves the door open to many remixes. The catchy hook, “Just sitting in a daze, with that smoke in my face”, immediately gets locked into your brain. This is guaranteed to get some spins on it, and more than matches up with the style of other big-name artists. It’s so rare when two artists can lay something down that blends so naturally, but they accomplished this and more.

Give The Track A Listen and Check Kruza Kid Live

Kruza Kid dropped “Daze” in perfect timing, before his huge concert at Beacon. We’re gonna see him perform with dub-step staples Wick-It the Instigator and Mr. Willis for Party Guru’s own Frequency Sessions. What other way to celebrate the new release of a banger, than to follow it up with a huge performance? This is bound to be a good time, so make sure you make it out!
