1) Rock am Ring

Held annually in Nuremberg, Germany, Rock am Ring hosts rock music lovers from around the world. Every year more than 200,000 people attend to see some of their favorite artists perform live. Specifically, over 150,000 campers stay on-site for an entire week to fully enjoy everything that Rock am Ring has to offer including camping and many food options. The line-up includes rock and metal acts such as Linkin Park, System of a Down, and Slipknot.

2) Airbeat One

Airbeat One is held in mid-July and takes place at Flugplatz Ahlhorn, Sylt. It is an open-air electronic music event that features international DJs and producers including Flux Pavilion, Cosmic Gate, and JAUZ. Therefore, this festival attracts over 80,000 people each year, including many locals who come to watch their favorite artists perform on the festival’s numerous stages. The festival began in 1995 and has been growing ever since. The founder of Airbeat One, Tom Oehler, was only 20 years old when he started putting on parties while studying telecommunications at University of Aachen. Since then, his passion for parties has grown into one of Europe’s largest festivals!

3) Hurricane Festival and Southside Festival

Held annually in June in Scheeßel, Germany, Hurricane Festival attracts roughly 60,000 attendees each year. Since its debut year in 1999, this four-day event features various genres of music, most commonly rock and electronic music. To clarify, this festival is one of the oldest in Europe. Southside Festival was created as a spinoff from Hurricane Festival; it occurs at almost exactly the same time (one week before) and is held in Hildesheim.

4) Melt! Festival

The Melt! Festival takes place in Ferropolis, a city that was built around an iron ore mine. The festival features a wide variety of electronic music and art installations. For instance, artists that have performed at Melt! Festival include Bonobo, ZHU, Adam Beyer, and more. This three-day outdoor event offers something for everyone. This year’s dates are June 9-12, 2022.

5) Parookaville

Parookaville is a massive outdoor electronic music festival that takes place in Weeze, Germany. This three-day event attracts thousands of party-goers from around Europe each year and features a wide range of genres including techno, trance, and tech-house. The festival usually occurs in the late summer to take advantage of cooler weather. Artists who have performed at Parookaville include Fatboy Slim, Eric Prydz, Paul Kalkbrenner, and more.

Legendary producer Excision has unleashed his newest album Onyx. In case you are not familiar with Excision, he is one of today’s most notable dubstep artists. This album is packed with insane drops that are sure to move you. There’s a decent amount of variety on here, too, meaning you can listen to it for longer without getting tired of it. Rezz is a renowned EDM artist based out of Canada. Her latest album, Spiral is out now on Mau5trap records. It maintains some of her staple sound design while evolving in an unexpected new direction. There’s no doubt that Rezz is a skilled artist—her mix of horror movie sound effects with hard dance music chops has made her an EDM superstar in no time. If you like her other tracks or are just looking for something moody to chill out to, we highly recommend checking this album out. Her music is chaotic but perfect to listen to while working or doing anything that requires you to focus. Rezz is definitely someone to watch in 2022 as she continues to climb into mainstream EDM. Freddy Todd – Nineteen Ninety

Freddy Todd brings you into his world of electronic music in his newest release titled Nineteen Ninety. Featuring nine tracks that take elements of bass music and combine them with trap-influenced beats, Nineteen Ninety is a standout release that showcases Freddy Todd‘s technical skill behind the decks. The young producer has managed to skyrocket his way into mainstream recognition with a unique brand of grungy bass music that is equal parts grit and sweetness.
