A Look Back at Breakaway Arizona 2026

Breakaway Arizona lit up the weekend of April 24th-25th with an unforgettable two-day experience. Hosted by Breakaway Music Festival in partnership with Relentless Beats, it delivered nonstop music, vibrant energy, and an atmosphere full of excitement.

Taking place at Sloan Park Festival Grounds, the event featured multiple stages, over 80 DJs, a variety of vendors, and more. Breakaway Arizona solidified itself as a standout festival in its second year in the Valley.

What sets Breakaway apart is its unique, multi-city tour format. Each gathering builds anticipation as it brings its signature experience to cities across the country.

Production and Layout

Breakaway Arizona featured three stages: the Main Stage, Leave It All Behind (the L.A.B), and a silent disco hosted by Jimmy John’s called Club Sandwich, which offered three DJ decks running at once. Music kicked off promptly at 3pm and kept the energy going until 10pm.

The Main Stage featured an elevated setup surrounded by massive LED screens enhanced by lasers, pyrotechnics, fireworks, and CO2 cannons that brought the production to life.

The L.A.B and Club Sandwich featured similar production elements on a smaller scale, including multiple lighting rigs, a disco ball, and dynamic spotlights that enhanced the immersive atmosphere.

Breakaway’s layout felt cohesive and well organized, with plenty of space between stages, minimal high-traffic congestion, and ample room for attendees to sit and relax at picnic tables or on grassy areas.

Lineup

Taking over the stages this weekend were a mix of heavy hitters, popular names, rising stars, and local DJs representing Arizona.

Attendees had the chance to experience sets from artists such as Marshmello, Loud Luxury, and Kygo. ISOxo also delivered a standout performance alongside acts like Disco Dom, Habstrakt, and James Hype.

With a packed roster across the weekend, genres across the EDM spectrum were well represented. Whether catching a favorite artist or discovering a new sound to add to their playlist, the weekend offered something for everyone.

The full lineup can be seen here

Vendors

A variety of food and drink vendors were available throughout the weekend, offering attendees plenty of options to choose from. Food selections included tacos, burgers, fries, and sweet treats, while drink options ranged from seltzers and BeatBox Beverages to energy drinks like Celsius, along with mixed cocktails, mocktails, sodas, and sports drinks.

When it came to festival attire, Loose Lucys served as a one stop shop for everyone’s needs. Living by their motto, “cool clothes, kind prices,” they offered everything from pashminas and hand fans to full festival outfits, perfect for adding to or completing any look for the season.

Final Details

VIP offered private bars, dedicated food options, shaded seating areas, and air-conditioned restrooms. The Space Deck stood out as a unique feature, providing an elevated view of the stage along with table service and drinks.

Accessibility was also a priority, with various ADA seating options available at each stage to ensure a more inclusive environment. Both general and VIP parking were available, and entry into the festival was quick and efficient, from ticket scanning and ID checks to getting inside.

Breakaway also featured multiple art installations throughout the grounds, creating perfect photo opportunities for attendees. There were also plenty of general admission restrooms and water stations available throughout the venue to support the crowd.

Breakaway also offered a variety of extras, including a run club hosted by Celsius on Saturday, April 25th. The three-mile loop welcomed all paces, and participants had the chance to win merch and various Breakaway ticket upgrades after the run. The weekend also featured multiple after parties headlined by artists such as MPH, Disco Dom, and Dr. Fresch.

I would definitely recommend attending a Breakaway festival. It was an incredible experience, and I’m already looking forward to the next Arizona edition.
