System Overload sent shockwaves through the Valley during the weekend of February 27th–28th. Presented by Relentless Beats in partnership with Aftershock, this first-time festival made its debut at Rawhide Event Center in Chandler, Arizona.
The festival featured two stages, bass-shaking production, a variety of vendors, and plenty more for attendees to explore.
Lineup and Production
The main stage, known as the Power Grid, hosted a variety of artists spanning multiple genres. Among them were heavy hitters like Liquid Stranger, NGHTMRE, and HOL!.
It also hosted sets from Richard Finger, Eptic, and M?STIC, further adding to the eclectic range of artists playing on the main stage.
Power Grid featured towering LED screens that made up most of the stage design, surrounded by extensive lighting rigs, lasers, pyrotechnics, and CO2 cannons lining the front of the stage. Both nights concluded with fireworks displays that closed out sets from SLANDER and Wooli.
The secondary stage, Vault 404, was held inside the Rawhide barn. It featured a massive lighting rig equipped with multiple spotlights and lasers that amplified the high-energy atmosphere.
Vault 404 leaned even further into the heavier side of bass music, hosting artists across genres like riddim, drum and bass and hardstyle. Standout performances came from the likes of FÄMM, Bommer, Codd Dubz and The Resistance.
Vault 404 also hosted several high-energy back-to-back sets throughout the weekend, including from Stoned to Death (Muerte and Stoned Level), MADVKTM (Mad Dubz and VKTM), BLVNK SPVCE b2b Sqishi, and Sisto b2b 7L. These collaborative sets brought even more intensity to the Vault 404 stage, giving fans a chance to see artists blend their styles in real time.
Experiences
Over the weekend, attendees had the opportunity to win meet-and-greets with artists such as NGHTMRE, Samplifire, Codd Dubz, Cannabliss, and Stoned to Death.
There were also multiple photo opportunities throughout the festival grounds, including giant System Overload robots and featured art installations that added to the immersive atmosphere.
Vendors
Vendors included festival fashion businesses such as Gypsy Elysian, Moon Lvnding, and Loose Lucy’s. Each offered a variety of accessories like hydro packs, hand fans, handmade clothing and jewelry. They all had something perfect for festivalgoers looking to elevate their outfits.
Some popular food vendors included Island Noodles, Gravy Train Poutine, and Bacon Bacon Bacon. For a sweet treat, attendees could also indulge in ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery.
Drink options included mixed cocktails, BeatBox Beverages, and a variety of seltzers and beers. Non-alcoholic options were also available, including soda, energy drinks, and lemonade.
Final Details
Rawhide Event Center offered free parking for attendees, along with a paid premium lot option and plenty of ADA-accessible spaces.
Air-conditioned restrooms were also available inside the venue for VIP and GA+ guests, providing a comfortable break from the festival environment.
The lawn area featured plenty of seating with picnic benches for those needing to take a break, while the Relentless Beats Rangers roamed throughout the grounds to help ensure the health and safety of attendees.
Overall, the weekend at System Overload was an unforgettable experience filled with heavy bass, stunning visuals, and nonstop energy.
