Shaquille O’Neill aka Shaq aka DJ DIESEL is back with another Bass All-Stars party this September. Heading to Mission Ballroom in Denver on the 8th, this installment features an unprecedented all-female lineup.
Since 2014, basketball hall of famer Shaq has captivated audiences with his DJ DIESEL alter ego. No stranger to music, Shaq released multiple rap albums during the ’90s. Now, he’s throwing down the best in trap, dubstep and bass music.
It’s easy to see that DJ DIESEL knows what’s up when it comes to music. The dude freaking debuted to the masses at Tomorrowland in 2015 for goodness sake! It’s no surprise DJ DIESEL loves DJing, as he equates the feeling he gets from DJing to the ones he used to get playing basketball.
Now retired from the NBA, Shaq strives to do things that will change people’s lives. And that’s his goal with this female edition of Bass All-Stars. Shaq’s Bass All-Stars has traveled to various cities worldwide, but this is the first time all-female lineup.
He’s picked fiery female talent among the most influential women in the game for your listening pleasure. He’s got a blend of newbies and seasoned DJs, like AIMMIA who made her EDC Las Vegas debut this May. There’s also Jessica Audiffred who’s headlining Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City this summer. The rest of the roster includes Softest Hard and So Tuff So Cute, the B2B collab between Mija and GG Magree. Each dominates the scene in their own right.
And it seems only appropriate that the venue for Shaq’s party is Mission Ballroom. Located in the River North Art District (RiNo), Mission Ballroom is a relatively new, state-of-the-art event space operated by AEG Rocky Mountains. Seating nearly 4,000 party goers, the venue features bowl-like seating, much like Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Brooklyn Steel, and The Anthem, all rumored to be an inspiration for the ballroom. It’ll be great for these women to test the sound system with their grimy, earth-quaking beats.
DJ DIESEL’s dedication to helping those rising stars is wonderful to see, as is his commitment to dubstep and bass music. He’s supporting the women he feels deserve a spot on the stage, and judging by the lineup, the party, and the venue, he’s accomplished all that and more. Is there anything Shaq can’t do?
The general sale for Shaq’s Bass All-Stars began on June 12th, so there might still be tickets available if you purchase them today. Not only is this a legendary DIESEL party, but it features an all-female lineup too.
