The Revival of the Bass Capital

Denver, Colorado is recognized by electronic music lovers as the Bass Capital. This city has rightfully earned its title over the years. Not only is it home to many talented dubstep producers, but it also hosts countless shows at its many beautiful venues.

Ever since March of 2020, the Bass Capital has gone silent along with the rest of the world. Due to changed laws and regulations regarding COVID-19, live shows haven’t consistently been allowed in months. Fortunately, the Denver music community has been able to remain active and connected.

Getting Dirty at the Drive-In

Denver announced the Dirty Drive-in, which is a month-long series of drive-in concerts occurring every Thursday. So, on July 9th, the first event will take place at the Mile High Flea Market. This “open-air, drive-in festival” is “complete with a booming sound system and immersive stage production”.

Attendees will have to purchase tickets per car that can then be split among their crew that they drive with. Upon arrival, ticket holders will have their temperatures taken. The sound for the event will be through a traditional sound system. As well as an FM radio station that attendees can play through their car stereo.

Peekaboo Debuts the Festival

This Thursday, the festival’s lineup consists of Peekaboo , Sully, Templo, and Angelic Root.

Angelic Root will be opening the night. Following him will be Templo, who released his most recent EP titled Zebra about three months ago on April 16th. His music is also very experimental and will most definitely set the tone for the night.

Sully is another artist on the lineup, and he fits the bill perfectly. His dark, grime-filled music is sure to get everyone dancing on their feet (or making crazy bass faces at the least). “Clique” with G-Rex is one of his classic tracks. Some of his newer creations include his latest EP, Brainstorm.

The final artist on the lineup is Peekaboo. This American producer and DJ specializes in freeform bass and dubstep music. “Aftermath“, was his first single, released in the year 2016. He skillfully crafts his own unique sound and style of music production. Some of his most popular tracks are “Babatunde – VIP” with G-Rex, “Arrival“, and his remix of Zeds Dead and Jauz’s “Lights Go Down“.

The weather will be warm and the sky will be full of stars this Thursday night. Bass heads will finally get to come together again for a night of connecting over their shared love for music. Have you been dreaming to sing along to your favorite tracks underneath lights and lasers? Make your dream a reality by purchasing your ticket here!

Attention: Every individual’s temperature will be taken upon entry. Attendees do have to wear masks during this event when not in their car. Staff will be cleaning bathrooms regularly and hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the event.
