“There is no Neil Frances,” as the duo’s 2022 album cover states.
Neil Frances consists of Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfrey. Sydney-born Feller started in the music industry as a self-taught DJ, while Gilfrey, who hails from California, naturally began a career in music, following in the footsteps of many of his family members. After moving away from their hometowns and pursuing careers in London and New York, respectively, the two eventually moved to Los Angeles and formed the Neil Francis project in 2016.
The duo began their project writing music for female vocalists, soon realizing the draw that came from their original and raw demo sounds. Feller’s advanced production skills, coupled with Gilfrey’s buttery vocals, have drawn fans to their warm and dreamy style. Often incorporating multiple instruments and band structure in their live sets has earned them a unique spot in the electronic music scene.
