Mike's Paradize Your Mom's House

2024 is already shaping up to be quite an eventful year, and rising R&B artist Mike’s Paradize (real name Michael Williams) has big plans. On January 18th, we met up with him before his appearance in Volume 8 of R&B Jam Fest at Your Mom’s House (YMH).

We discussed his background, the Denver music scene, performing, and what to expect from him in 2024. Afterwards, we witnessed his artistry come to life with his performance at YMH. The singer gave us a glimpse of the future with a captivating performance consisting of a collection of yet-to-be released songs.

Southern Origins

Originally from Florida, Mike’s Paradize spent some time in Alabama before finally relocating to Denver, where he currently resides. “Everywhere I go, I take a little piece with me,” the singer said of the experience. He also stated that his southern origins have provided a flavorful background in music that have shaped his take on soul and R&B music. Additionally, Mike’s Paradize takes inspiration from classic ’90s R&B as well as artists such as Jamie Foxx, Ginuwine and Chris Brown.

The Denver Scene

When it comes to R&B music, Denver’s reputation is not as pronounced as other genres — such as EDM, for example. Mike’s Paradize believes the scene could use some work, but he also sees the potential for growth as it expands. The singer was especially excited to be a part of the eighth iteration R&B Jam Fest (which began in 2022 and has showcased local talents ever since). These events provide a platform for talented R&B artists and continue to move the genre forward in the city.

Mike's Paradise Your Mom's House

When it comes to performing, Mike’s Paradize claims that his best approach is to just be himself. It is clear that the singer is no stranger to the stage. He has been performing as far back as his childhood and has more recently crossed local venues, such as the Fillmore Auditorium and The Black Box, off his list.

Mike’s Paradize’s natural performance abilities were on full display as he took the stage at YMH. The singer exuded confidence as he serenaded the crowd in a sleek turtleneck and dark pair of sunglasses. His powerful vocals demanded attention and captivated everyone in the venue. The setlist was comprised entirely of unreleased tracks, giving us a sneak peak of upcoming Mike’s Paradize releases in 2024.

Whats Next?

Ultimately, Mike’s Paradize’s goal as an artist is to connect with his audience. “I understand where they’re coming from, so I can project their pain through my music,” he states. “Its all feel-good music, I want to touch their souls. My paradise is going to be your paradise.”

Mike’s Paradize sees this upcoming year as an opportunity for growth. The artist’s next single, “Run” featuring T-Rell, releases on February 27th. The singer tells us that this track will showcase his versatility and feature him rapping in addition to his usual singing. He sees this not only as an evolution of his style, but of his artistry as a whole. And this is only the beginning! Later on in the year, the artist will release two EPs (one in the summer and one in the fall).

You can get familiar with Mike’s Paradize now by checking him out on streaming services (Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud).
