Megan Thee Stallion hits headlines as this year’s winner of the MTV Best Hip Hop award at the notorious VMA’s. Megan Thee Stallion was nominated for four MTV Video Music Awards including, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video for her single “Savage”, and Best Song of the Summer for the controversal x-rated hit “WAP” accompanying the infamous Cardi B. Fans rushed onto social media platforms like Twitter buzzing over the hip-hop idol’s victory.

This year’s VMA’s is not the first event to bring Megan Thee Stallion’s name into the spotlight. Back in 2019 the rising star took home the BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, she also took home the BET Hip-Hop award for Best Mixtape, and Best Hot Ticket Performer. 2019 also brought the Best Power Anthem VMA to Megan’s trophy case. But the headlines did not stop there.

Just last month Megan came forward about who shot her back in July. The courageous artist publically accused Tory Lanez of shooting her via Instagram. Megan also stated she withheld all the details of the incident due to the unease she felt while dealing with police in light of the recent escalation around the United States for the Black Lives Matter movement. The star tweeted “Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.” Since the incident little has come out from police about the incident and the recovering Stallion has gotten quiet and set her sights to the future.

Megan did not let the injury put a stop to her career, the healing creator put herselt to work. The unstoppable matron began a series of livestream events from different locations around the globe. The livestream series kicked off this past August 29th and 30th. The strong Stallion was up on her feet performing percise choreography and looking just as beautiful as ever.

The hip-hop icon recently traveled to the mile high state to conduct a live stream performance at the world renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The hood headliner was accompanied by none other than upcoming artists Phoebe Bridgers, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Sam Hunt and Lil Baby on Red Rock’s Unpaused pandemic series. The live stream took place this past week on Wednesday, September 2nd at 8pm mountain time. The stunning Stallion sported high wasted shorts, a matching long sleeve crop top, a studded mid-body harness, and paired the ensemble with black leather thigh high boots. The Texas baddie killed her performance and had millions of fans tuned in to watch every second.

Megan Thee Stallion has a brand focus set to radiate a daring authenticity unrivaled by others in the industry. Whether Megan is singing, rapping, posing, or composing she executes her task with a compelling influence and grace. The young starlit shook the industry with the undeniable controversy around the release of WAP with her partner in crime, Cardi B. Fans ran to their keboards raving about the song title “Wet A$$ P*ssy”, contimplating about lyrics, and even signing petitions to have Kylie Jenner removed from the music video. It is obvious that Megan Thee Stallion is essentially an invincible force that will inevitably change our creative culture. Through pain, turmoil, and recovery Megan Thee Stallion still came up on top. The MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Video may seem small in the grand scheme of things. Truthfully this victory is much bigger than it may seem. Megan Thee Stallion’s triumph is a feature that will bring inspiration not only to the young minority, but will strength to victims of assault everywhere.
