Killswitch Engage Puts On A Powerful Performance

This weekend at the Fillmore Auditorium fans of the metal scene rejoiced. Killswitch Engage, August Burns Red, and Light The Torch are finally able to bring the Atonement tour to Denver. The Atonement tour originally started back in 2020 but had to be postponed due to COVID 19 restrictions. Now after waiting over two years, the tour is back with a new schedule. At the time of writing this article, the Atonement tour is more than halfway finished. This seems to be adding some fire to the bands who continue to go hard for the people in attendance.

Let The Show Begin

Kicking off the show was Light the Torch, featuring former Killswitch Engage frontman, Howard Jones, on the vocals. Though the group has gone through some changes recently, Light the Torch has found their footing and are pushing forward. Currently signed to Nuclear Blast Records with two album releases under their new identity, the band continues to create more music for hungry fans. If you want to check out Light the Torch, they just released a music video for their new song “Death of Me“.

Light the Torch set the bar with their performance. As a result, August Burns Red had to bring it. That’s exactly what they did. Firstly, the stage lit up at the drop of the first track causing fans to go into a frenzy. Secondly, they played fan favorites like Whitewashed” and “Mariana’s Trench“. Thirdly and most importantly, they played new music. For those interested in hearing some of their new tracks for yourself, they recently made an official music video for “Bloodletter” off their recent album Guardians.

Finally, Killswitch Engage takes the stage with the original frontman Jesse Leach. Most fans know that Howard Jones did the vocals for Killswitch Engage, so it was a treat to have both vocalists on the lineup for the evening. For the end of the night, Howard Jones came back out on stage to perform “End of Heartache” and “The Signal Fire” alongside Jesse Leach. Overall, Killswitch Engage puts on a powerful performance.
