This weekend, John Summit performed his final headlining show of the year with full production at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. The energy was captivating throughout the night. As his biggest show to date, the event was curated with impressive attention to detail: fireworks, pyro flames, lasers, and professional dancers all contributing to a beautiful immersive experience.
According to Summit’s Experts Only label, the show filled the stadium with over 40,000 revelers. Attendees included Colorado natives, university students, and fans from all over the country, whether they were longtime followers or first-timers. Regardless of background, everyone shared an inspiring and unforgettable night.
Crowds arrived early to secure good spots for Summit and his openers. Over 7,000 flooded the stadium early to see opener B/AN/K’s first-ever stadium performance, followed by Roddy Lima, Max Styler, and Tchami, who built excitement before Summit’s appearance.
As the stadium filled, anticipation grew. At sundown, dozens of GA bowl attendees rushed down to the floor area, setting the stage for an eventful night.
Before Summit took the stage, fans shared their set predictions. Many hoped for a surprise set from Colorado native Disco Lines or expected early arrivals to join Summit on stage. Though they didn’t, Summit played several Experts Only collabs with Disco Lines, keeping the crowd guessing. Professional dancers matched the crowd’s energy behind the DJ booth, providing something absolutely trailblazing for the DJ scene. This seamless energy set the tone for the rest of the night.
By the time Summit took the stage, the temperature had dropped to only 40°F. He appeared in a tank top, unfazed by the Colorado wind. Mid-set, he joked, “I thought it was supposed to be cold here — I don’t feel shit,” before shedding the tank and ramping up the energy. While it was cold outside, the stadium pulsed with the heat of his performance.
The event blended elements of a massive Boiler Room set and a festival into a cohesive, immersive experience. Unique close-up crowd visuals, dramatic lasers, fireworks, and flames combined to create an atmosphere that was both intimate and mainstage ready. This attention to detail, paired with Summit’s performance and on-stage dancers, reinforced the unified vision and made for a standout headlining set at Folsom Field.
Summit delivered recognizable beats in a heartfelt, energetic set. He stayed grateful and poised, engaging the audience with his music. Aware of the night’s significance, he played his new remix of “I Wanna Go” by Britney Spears, dedicating it to “the girls and gays” online and debuted music he made the night before. While house and techno dominated, he surprised fans with bass sections, featuring a Subtronics remix of “Crystallized” and a Wooli remix of “Where Have You Been.” Fans also enjoyed live vocals from HAYLA and Cloves, which heightened the show’s dynamic flow as the night unfolded.
Summit’s show was a night for the books. It will continue to live rent-free in the minds of the tens of thousands of fans who were able to attend, raising the bar for future shows at Folsom Field.
