This past weekend was one of the most anticipated yearly events for bass heads in the Mile High City. Excision (real name Jeff Abel) brought his legendary live experience to Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, Colorado. For two nights, August 1st and August 2nd, Abel filled the venue with aggressive drops and impressive production.
For the last few years, Abel performed at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. After the venue closed in 2023, he had to find new settings that would be able to provide a home for his PK sound system and intricate lasers. Last year, he brought his production to the Denver Coliseum Parking Lot. This year, Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre offered the perfect venue for Denver’s headbangers to come together for a weekend of bass music under the stars.
In addition to two nights of Abel headlining, Friday night’s lineup featured Kliptic, Stoned Level B2B MUERTE, drinkurwater, PHASEONE, Zingara, and Sullivan King. Saturday night’s lineup consisted of All The Reason, Hydraulix B2B SHARLITZ WEB, VASTIVE B2B RZRKT, Jantsen, Ray Volpe, and Kai Wachi.
Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre
Located south of Denver, this is one of the Mile High City’s largest venues with a capacity of 18,000 people. The venue also offers a variety of seating options, from fixed seats to the general admission lawn. Inside the venue, there are plenty of restrooms and bars as well as concession stands and food vendors. These are spread throughout the back of the venue, so there is always something close by, no matter where you might post up to watch the show.
The venue is located in the middle of a business park near the Denver Tech Center, so there are plenty of nearby parking lots for concertgoers. These are paid lots, and there is also a rideshare pickup location for those getting dropped off at the venue.
Kicking Things Off
For this event, pavilion ticket holders had the opportunity to get pit access on a first-come, first-served basis. The venue removed some of the pavilion seats to make the pit even bigger for the headbangers! By 7:00 PM on Saturday, the pavilion and lawn were filling up towards the center of the venue. There was still plenty of room throughout the venue, however.
All of the openers got to use the full LED screens on stage for their sets. There was a large one behind the stage, and one in front of the DJ booth as well, allowing for a full visual experience. Light bars also ran across the top and bottom of the stage.
Robertson did a great job of helping to keep everyone’s energy up, playing a variety of remixes of pop and hip-hop songs in combination with his own free-flowing electronic sound. Colored, smoke-like fireworks that you could see in the daylight were also launched into the sky. Next, Ray Volpe’s Volpetron made an appearance on the big screen. He played a hot set, including signature tracks like “Song Request.” He also announced that he will be headlining the Mission Ballroom on January 31st, 2026.
Before Kai Wachi’s set, he watched from the crowd in the general admission lawn, taking pictures with fans and enjoying the music himself. Then, Wachi played direct support for Abel and threw a massively heavy set. Now that the sun was down, the full effects of the production could begin to be felt. Plus, fireworks were lighting up the sky during the drops! The venue was full at this point, with thousands of bass heads dancing together. Wachi also debuted a new collaboration with Sullivan King and Excision.
Denver Threw Their Xs Up
Finally, it was time for Abel’s set, and wow, the wait was so worth it! He came out swinging, with massive visuals on the LED screen, pyrotechnics from three places on the stage, fireworks, and multiple rows of intricate lasers.
Right off the bat, Abel played some hard-hitting tracks like “Lock In” by Subtronics and Wooli. Then, he played remixes of tracks including “The Way I Are” by Timbaland featuring Keri Hilson, D.O.E., and Sebastian, and “Crave You” by Flight Facilities featuring Giselle Rosselli. Some other noteworthy tracks from the night were Excision collaborations “Encore” with Sullivan King, “Titans” with Wooli, and “Feel Something” with Illenium featuring I Prevail.
One remarkable thing about Abel’s sets, in addition to the in-your-face dubstep and insane number of lasers, is the visuals displayed on the LED screen during his sets. These are designed to appear 3D, with creatures seeming to pop out of the screen and into the crowd. Dinosaurs, space ships, knights, and even the viral Shrek visual made an appearance throughout the night.

This year’s event was so much fun. There was room to dance throughout the venue, the weather was great, and the crowd was kind. On social media, there was definitely skepticism about the venue beforehand. But a lot of people came back onto social media after the shows to share appreciation for the venue and hope for more EDM shows there in the future.
Abel ended the night saying that he’ll see everyone at Bass Canyon and Lost Lands, which are the biggest upcoming festivals that he has this summer. Check out his website for a list of all of his future shows, and we’ll (hopefully) see him back in Denver next summer!
