If you’re all about that bass, catch DMVU and Toadface on their joint It’s Dangerous to Go Alone tour. Co-headlining Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on December 9th, these two will have the earth quaking and booties shaking.
This tour is in support of DMVU and Toadface’s collaborative EP of the same name. It’s Dangerous to Go Alone is an experimental venture that brings the best of both these artists to the forefront.
DMVU
Matthew Phillpot-Jones aka DMVU is a dubstep DJ and producer based in Denver. He rose to fame with “Bloccd,” released on Truth’s Deep Dark and Dangerous imprint. He’s since gone on to release Cloccworcc and “The Acid is Too Loud,” both to critical acclaim. Mostly known for hard-hitting bass with a hip-hop and rap flavor, DMVU also has releases on Circus Records. While DMVU tends to stay in the dubstep and bass realm, he has also explored his softer, more contemplative side in Praise Be Delusion or, The Ripple for which he received a Grammy nomination.
Toadface
Todd Holler aka Toadface will bring his swampy bass beats alongside DMVU. The younger brother of bass juggernaut Yheti, he has made quite the name for himself over the years. As a result of touring nonstop since 2013, Toadface commands quite the following with his unique music. He combines swampy elements and ambient sounds for a style all his own. It’s just as quirky as he is, as are the names of his songs and albums. His most popular song is “Serotonin Machinegun” — and his Wakaan debut, Bugs for Breakfast, resulted in his first solo tour back in 2018.
Such a momentous tour requires a well-equipped venue that’s big enough to handle this much bass. Enter Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. An independent live music venue, Cervantes is a dual-room space, featuring the Masterpiece Ballroom and The Other Side. Operating separately from each other, the ballroom can hold 1,000 people and has a wrap-around balcony that encircles the room, adding an air of intimacy. Needless to say, it’s the perfect spot for thumping bass.
It’s only right that these two are co-headlining a tour together. In 2017, Toadface supported DMVU, Yheti, and Of The Trees on various dates for his first large-scale tour appearance. It’s almost as if he’s come full circle.
With artists as big as these two on the lineup, you’ll want to buy your tickets ASAP. Don’t miss out on your chance to see DMVU and Toadface, along with Canvas and huck.jorris at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver this December 9th.
