It’s time to dawn all your spookiest attire. Day of the deadmau5 is returning to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on November 3rd and 4th to resurrect party goers.
The legendary DJ, producer, and mau5trap label boss’s Dia de los Muertos-inspired tour is back and bigger than ever. The man with the LED-covered mouse head announces a four-city, six-show run which culminates in two nights at the historic amphitheater this November.
The event comes off the heels of a one-year break since deadmau5′ We Are Friends Tour. The tour will start in San Francisco on Oct 21st before heading to Chicago for two nights, October 27th and 28th. On Halloween night he will bring the tour to Mexico City before returning stateside for its conclusion.
deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman) is a fixture of modern dance music. Zimmerman’s influential mau5trap imprint has worked with the biggest names in EDM. Last year he began an ambitious collaboration with house magnate Kaskade called Kx5. Through this collaborative effort, Zimmerman has cemented his legacy in EDM history forever.
Never one to rest, Zimmerman is always working on several projects. The aforementioned Kx5, who are headlining the 20th anniversary of Global Dance Festival, and his main solo project are just the start. He also has the solo project TESTPILOT, for which he frequently plays shows as well. Last but not least is his collaborative effort with mau5trap label mate Rezz called Rezzmau5.
No other artists have yet to be announced as support for Zimmerman on his tour. You never know what the mouse-headed maestro may have up his sleeve, though. A previous iteration of the Day of the deadmau5 tour featured Getter and the late i_o playing direct support. Another year featured two extended solo sets and a TESTPILOT set. There’s no telling what the lineup will look like this year, but it will be sure to raise the dead.
