50 Cent

Few rappers have had as much impact on hip-hop culture as Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has since the early 2000s. With the release of his iconic debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, 50 Cent rose to superstardom as one of the most prominent artists of his era. Since then, the monumental artist has branched out to become an entrepreneur, actor, and executive producer, among other roles. This year, Jackson returns to the stage with his Final Lap Tour and stops at Ball Arena on July 23rd.

20 years after its release, the legacy of Get Rich or Die Tryin’ cannot be understated. Jackson’s major label debut, the album came out after Eminem and Dr. Dre noticed the rapper and mentored him. In fact, the pair can be seen in the legendary music video for the album’s first single “In Da Club.” The single, along with the follow-ups, “21 Questions” and “P.I.M.P.” became a number-one hit, catapulting the album’s sales and making it the highest selling U.S. album of 2003. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ has been certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America.
