Alan Walker’s “Walkerverse” was an immersive, energetic, and vibrant experience! The visual lighting and stage production combined with the incredible amounts of lasers, pyro, co2 cannons, and confetti gives an idea of exactly what it was like to be in the crowd and the feeling you got being there in attendance. Alan Walker not only has a way of producing amazing electronic music, but with so much visual production happening throughout his entire set, Alan Walker is able to create visual storytelling behind all his songs. With so much going on musical and visually, it makes it easy to focus on the music and not the globally acclaimed person behind his signature black mask and hood. Joined by Au/RA (@heyitsau_ra) on stage, these two put on full display what makes them such a strong and successful touring act. Rarely have i seen two artists who are so complementary and perfect for each other. These two absolutely lit up Mission Ballroom!

220 KID
Right from the very beginning, this show set a certain tone and energy. With the very first artist @▪️220 KID▪️ to take the stage, performing his very first show in America to kick things off! With so many people showing up early to get into the venue first to try and get as close as they could to see Alan Walker, there was a pretty sizable crowd and energy building up already. The crowd size and energy from the very second the doors opened made for a one- of- a- kind first experience for this UK artist! Not only was the crowd size relatively big for a newer artist and an opener, but the energy in the venue was above average from the very beginning.

Telykast
Next up was the extremely high-energy duo from @Telykast. As soon as these guys began their set, the energy level absolutely exploded throughout the venue. These two come alive on stage and you begin to feel the crowd feeding off their energy. There was rarely a single moment where these guys weren’t smiling or laughing and jumping up and down higher than anyone else in the venue. @Telykast is a great example of why getting to shows early can be such a great way to discover new talent and artists.

Blossum
One of the most captivating artists of the entire evening was @Blossum.dj. With her bubbly personality and pink hair, her smile and style makes her stand out and you would not expect her to drop a beat as hard as she does! There is such a positive energy she creates, it makes for an experience you can’t help but walk away from in a better mood. If you were in the crowd and you weren’t smiling and jumping up and down by this point in the night, you might need to go get your pulse checked. The pink lighting and visuals combined with her bright pink hair, make this female DJ stand out in a line up of male artists.

Krushendo Goes Big with Destruction Ft BVLVNCE, Opening For Sullivan King on 8/26 in Boulder
Colorado’s own Krushendo has been making waves this year since he directly supported ILLENIUM for two days in Aspen, CO, for the X Games. He has since headlined Cervantes Otherside and played Electric Forest. His most recent success was opening for SoDown to a completely sold-out Mishawaka Amphitheatre.
Today is Krushendo’s birthday, and he released Destruction featuring BVLVNCE on vocals, who just recently put out a tune with the legendary Kayzo. Destruction features metal production into a bro step banger of a drop that reminds us of old Kai Wachi and Black Tiger Sex Machine. He put it out for FREE DOWNLOAD if you follow him on Spotify! Listen/hear below.
Krushendo’s next big show is on 8/26 in Boulder at The Fox with the legendary Sullivan King. His new direction in dubstep is sure to turn heads in the coming year.

Sacred Acre: A Passion Project on the Kenai
Do you have something that ignites a passion in you so intensely you want to shout it to the world? Two of those passions of mine are Electronic Music and Alaska! This September, those two worlds collide at the Sacred Acre Festival on the Kenai Peninsula in Ninilchik, Alaska!
I had a chance to speak with the founder of Sacred Acre, Chris Miller, and in speaking with him, I found out it only takes one moment for an idea to be born. One night, in 2018, his wife read a passage out loud from a book by Ivo Dominguez, “The ‘Sacred Acre’ is a place that lies between low and high tide because in this magical place—two worlds collide. By high tide, it’s swum by sea creatures; by low tide, it’s walked by land animals. So in this magical place, we come to re-center ourselves, to harmonize with land and sea, and to find a sense of mindfulness unlike any other.”
This struck home for Chris. He knew there was a market for an Electronic scene in Alaska, and this created the perfect story for a festival. When putting this festival together, Chris covered everything, a fantastic lineup, transportation, accommodations and sustainability.
Lineup
The lineup has Electronic music heavyweights like Clozee, Opiuo and LSDream. These artists and their music are a perfect fit for the magic that will come to life in Alaska. In addition, they recently added keyboard legend Jason Leech who will be sure to play some flipped versions of songs we know and love. However, fantastic music does not stop there. On the lineup, there are even some Alaskan locals. Clint Samples and PREPMODE are some of the DJ’s on the lineup from the Last Frontier. Anchorage, Alaska-based artist PREPMODE is known for his turntable and mixing skills. While out here at Sacred Acre I’ll be jamming to music I know and love, but I will also be branching out to see what else can bless my ears.
Transportation
Being from Alaska, one of the main reactions I get when I tell people where
I am from is that it must be hard to get around. This could not be farther from
the truth in considering Sacred Acre! The team has put a lot of thought into
the logistics of this festival, like getting to the festival and getting
camping gear. Festival goers can step off the plane in Anchorage and get on a
shuttle that will take them to the festival grounds, where if they choose to
rent camping gear, it will be waiting for them too! Several types of
campgrounds at the festival range from lightly wooded areas to a site that
overlooks the Cook inlet with a chance to view otters, seals and whales!
I also got to speak with Chris about some recommendations he has if people
choose to explore Alaska beyond the festival. Along the Kenai, two cities to
visit are Homer and Seward! If you make your way down south of the festival,
you will find the city of Homer. This city sits along the Kachemak Bay and has
tons to offer visitors. One restaurant in Homer Chris recommends he is the
Green Can. It is known for its seasonal menu, delicious craft cocktails, and
sustainably caught seafood. When I make my way to Homer, I know this will be a
can’t miss stop! One last recommendation he has is to drive north to see North
America’s tallest mountain peak, Mt. Denali, formerly known as Mt. McKinley.
The camping is gorgeous up there and is the perfect time of year to see the
fall foliage. Alaska is so vast this list could go on forever!
Sustainability
One of the many great aspects of this festival is its sustainability
practices, which are dear to many festival attendees. This festival will be a
NO PLASTIC event which is just one of the many reasons this festival should get
a lot of love! In addition, Sacred Acre will boast hydration stations for
refillable water bottles, and reusable metal cups for alcohol sales, and all
vendors will use compostable and recyclable materials. Lastly, the creators and
producers of Scared Acre will be using part of the proceeds from the festival
to donate to local and national charities. These charities expose fishing
companies that use unethical fishing practices like trawling.

SoDown Takes over The Mishawaka for 2 days of Heavy Bass and Funk July 29th and 30th
Colorado’s own SoDown made his mark on the bass music capital recently by playing direct support for Boogie T at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He has recently headlined Mission Ballroom and is now heading to The Mishawaka Amphitheatre which is just about a 30 minutes drive from Fort Collins and about an hour and a half from North Denver and Boulder for two nights of bass music by the river.
Friday, July 29th is Day 1 of this 2 day bass extravaganza and features BItbird act DNMO as direct support, Colorado rock/future bass legend Bass Physics, and Krushendo. You may recognize Bass Physics from huge shows at Decadence and with ILLENIUM at his curated festival in Mexico called Ember Shores. Krushendo also has played with ILLENIUM and has played huge festivals including Electric Forest and Imagine.
Saturday July 30th’s lineup includes Defunk who is featured on SoDown’s newest EP entitled, “Get Up”. Defunk just recently played with Daily Bread at The Ogden which was one of our favorite shows of the year. He is joined by Meduso who has been crushing the bass music game since his LP entitled, “Zooted”, came out in 2020. With similar soundscapes to Mersiv, Meduso is bound to be a breakout artist in 2022. The night will be opened up by Phyphr who just recently sold out his co-headliner at Cervantes Otherside in June with Vincent Antone. He is known for remixes of SoDown and Manic Focus and live guitar in his sets and production.
2 Day Passes are Available as well!
SoDown recently put out a devastating 3 song bass banger of an EP entitled, “Get Up”, which features a collab with Canadian dirty/funky/bass legend Defunk and two original singles, “BadBoi Sound”, and “Serious Dub”. These tunes are singular to SoDown’s SoHeavy style of blending mesmerizing basses while still paying homage to soul/funk.
To add to this he recently had Buku, iLL.Gates and Ruvlo remix this tune, you can listen to the remixes below.
Eighth Annual Deadrocks Hangover: a night of heavy bass, heady atmosphere, and Special Guest: GRIZ

Zeds Dead Brings the Heat to Denver
Deadrocks Hangover was the last event of the bass-filled celebration for The Fourth of July. On theFourth, this show commenced at Mission Ballroom at 9:30pm after the Dead Beats Jamboree at Civic Center Park. After two shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater, Dead Beats brought the heat to Denver. Ternion Sound opened up the night with some deep melodic bass and dubstep that set the bar high for ZedsDead.
Ternion Sounds opens up the night at one of the most highly favorable venues in Colorado
The opener Ternion Sound originally played together at Infrasound Music Festival in 2016, and it was immediately obvious to all that this dynamic trio would be unbeatable in many aspects. The trio of dubstep veterans Nostalgia, Apparition, & Johnny Foreplay have unmatched energy and have started to receive support from industry legends such as Distance, J:Kenzo, N-Type, and The Widdler. As the crowd slowly filled in from the Jamboree, the main floor and seating above was buzzing in excitement.
Although Mission Ballroom is a relatively new venue to Colorado, it consistently proves the incredible amount of thought put into every detail of this venue. From the incredible views from any seat in the house to the complete lack of door and bar lines, Mission Ballroom is a highly favorable venue for all.
Zeds Dead leaves the crowd in speechless with special guest and local legend – Griz
The audience anxiously waited after Ternion Sound left a lasting impression on the crowd with their melodic dubstep bass-heavy jams. The lights drew down and Zeds Dead entered with some bass-y reverb and Darth Vader in the background that put everyone in a state of pure awe. The Mission Ballroom laser bars traced the stage as DJ booth created a floating effect over the crowd. The dynamic duo immediately created a high-energy environment where everyone was on the edge of their seats to hear what was to come next.
Even with this being their eighth Deadrocks, Zeds Dead bleeds passion for the underground music scene and represents an eclectic assortment of artists in their remixes. After playing songs like Frontlines, Collapse, Alive, and many more unheard hits, the first half of the show came to a close and the crowd’s excitement was contagious.
As the lasers flash and the light starts to rise, Zeds Dead says that they are excited to announce their special guest: “You may have heard of him – he goes by Griz.” As the local legend arrived on stage, the crowd exploded with ecstatic cheers and hollers. Griz and Zeds Dead instantly created many never heard remixes, combining dubstep, heavy bass, and some drum and bass. Griz’s easy-going summer jams combined with Zeds Dead heavy bass and incredible remixes of popular songs put the crowd in a complete state of shock. With four shows, five sets, in three days, this year’s Deadrocks is one that will not be forgotten in a hurry.
