Oteil & Friends The Eagle Block Party 2023

The highly anticipated, artist-packed and perfectly timed end of summer event, Block Party Eagle, returned for another year in the town of Eagle, Colorado. Two full days, three stages, and a bonus Sunday brunch show provided plenty of entertainment for all ages and folks of varying music tastes.

With even more vendors and food trucks ranging from options like gyros, Mexican corn, pizza, tacos, and drinks like blue slushies and lemonade, it certainly looked like everyone stayed well fed and hydrated.

On Friday, we were welcomed with sprinkles of rain that created the perfect atmosphere for a chill evening. On the Firestarter Stage, the opener Float Like A Buffalo started the weekend off with some smooth, jazzy tunes. The Haymaker stage was rocking for a good portion of the day with The Record Company, and it closed out the night with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. On the Boneyard stage, fans cheered and sang along to Sam Bush’s “Moonlight, Midnight,” which could have gotten stuck in your head all night. Lastly, the packed crowd got really stoked for Oteil & Friends, who added a few extra members to their show as the evening went along.

Saturday afternoon started early, but with high excitement. On the Firestarter Stage, the band Trees Don’t Move rocked out and got the crowd dancing and moving to start out the day.

The Haymaker Stage welcomed the Kyle Hollingsworth Band, who brought the fans of The String Cheese Incident out of the woodwork by playing a mashup of familiar songs and new hits. Paul Cauthen taking the stage at 5:00 PM for one of the high-energy moments of Saturday — you could tell that the crowd certainly looked forward to seeing him live and loved his country style. We closed out the night on the Firestarter Stage with Bill & Jill Nershi as well as special guests: their daughter Lauren and Jason Haan on the drums.

Lettuce & Pepper were on the Boneyard stage for the rest of the evening, and they didn’t stop the funk. The entire venue was dancing till 11:00 PM and even on their way through the exit.
