DUSK Takes Over Tucson!

DUSK Takes Over Tucson!

DUSK Music Festival takes over Tucson, Arizona for the weekend of November 11th and 12th. This annual festival never fails to impress with its curated lineup, vendors, and art installations. DUSK has been able to evolve over the years with the amazing support of many sponsors and community partners such as Rio Nuevo, Iridius Capital, HSL Properties, and more. To see the full of sponsors, click here.

Location, Layout, and Production

DUSK is a two day festival that is located within the boundaries of Jàcome Plaza in Downtown Tucson. One of the best qualities of DUSK is that it brings a big production of a major festival down the style of a neighborhood block party. This unique location was able to hold three main stages, various art installations, plenty of hang-out spots for attendees, and over forty vendors. The layout made it easy for attendees to move around and no area felt crowded. There was also street and garage parking in the surrounding areas and entry to the festival was easy to find.

Lineup

Over the weekend, DUSK featured many artists that come from a variety of genres such as Rock, EDM, Alternative, and more.

Day 01: Griz, Young the Giant, Cannons, Nora En Pure, Zomboy, Aluna, Breakup Shoes, KennyHoopla, Kyle Walker, Slothrust, Spag Heddy, Nomadik, Ben Dro, Svnday Drvr, KOL, M-Okay, Tonight’s Sunshine, Gone Before Us, Que

Food and Drink

DUSK featured some tasty food vendors such as Danny’s Vegan, Ray Ray’s Sonoran Tea, Dante’s Fire, Fresco Pizzeria, Barrio Brewing Co., Culinary Dropout, Gastronomic Union of Tucson, and more!

One aspect of DUSK that I have always admired are the praiseworthy curated drinks they offer. These drinks are inspired by popular songs of the artists performing. For example, “Feel No Pain” features Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey, vanilla, pineapple, coconut, orange tea, and ginger bitters. “Silvertongue” features Don Julio Blanco Tequila, grapefruit, rose, lime, silver dust, and smoked chili bitters. “Purple Hat” featured Smirnoff Vodka, strawberry, blueberry, lemon, holy flower, and plum bitters. Lastly, “Gud Vibrations” featured Seedlip Garden 108 (zero proof), cucumber, mint, basil, and lime.

Other drink options included Ciroc, Budlight, Crown Royal, Red bull, and more.

Art Installions and Vendors

Tucson ARTS, presented by Dependable Health Services, showcased various sculptures, digital art, lighting exhibits, and more at DUSK.

Tucson PLAYS, presented by HSL Properties, had fun activities for attendees to enjoy such as cornhole, ladder toss, a mechanical bull, and more.

Tucson SHOPS, presented by Rio Nuevo, had all kinds of foods including fashion, fun pet clothes, fun trinkets, and more.

Vendors included Funky Junk, Tarot With Sarah, Bookmans, Faux Co., Mestizo Studio, Moon Lvnding, Color Queen Art, and more.

I also want to give a special shoutout to manicquins for their amazing custom mannequins!

Conclusion

I would highly recommend any of my fellow festival goers to attend DUSK! It has made great strides since 2016 and is constantly evolving. Be sure to follow all their socials to stay up to date with future news!

Sweet Neon Dreams Are Made Of This!

Sweet Neon Dreams Are Made Of This!

Howdy, fellow festival goers! As this past weekend came to an end, the high of Goldrush Music Festival: Neon Dreams slowly faded away. This three day reimagined event that is produced by Relentless Beats featured a diverse lineup, multiple stages, art installations, vendors, hang-out spots, extra activities and more! Goldrush has always been one of the best festivals here in Arizona so fans were eager for it’s return this year.

Location, Layout, and Production

Goldrush Music Festival called the Phoenix Raceway, located in Avondale, AZ, home for the weekend of October 7th – 9th. The raceway is a unique space that has lots of parking, including ADA and Premium, and has multiple entrances and exits for crowd flow.

To name a few heavy hitters, fans were excited to see Excision, Seven Lions, Rezz, Dom Dolla, Jai Wolf, Kaskade, G Jones, Herobust, Tape B, Netsky, Yolanda Be Cool, Ghastly, and more.

Let’s not also forget some of our favorite up-and-coming artists that threw down such as 2SOON, Bigstabes, Medicine Mike, Chiief., Voodreau, and more.

There were also a few meet and greets where fans could interact with artists like HoneyLuvLucii, Da Tweekaz, ARMNHMR, and Wuki

Flume Takes A Pit Stop At The Phoenix Raceway!

With over 20 U.S. stops, Flume finally made his way into the hearts of fans at the Phoenix Raceway this past weekend on September 3rd in Phoenix, AZ. He was able to perform on the always entertaining megastructure brought to us by Relentless Beats. Though the show may have gone through a rough patch with some initial technical difficulties, Flume brought the crowd back to life with his unique sound and stage presence.

Who Is Flume?

Harley Streten, also known as Flume, is a DJ and record producer from Australia. His self-titled debut album was released on November 9th, 2012. Many see Flume as a pioneer of the subgenre, future bass, and has helped poparize the genre over the years.

He has also won many awards, from the Australian Independent Record Awards, the APRA Music Awards, the ARIA Music Awards, the Grammy Awards, and the National Live Music Awards.

Flume has collabed with many artists over the years, including Kai, MAY-A, Vic Mensa, Vince Staples, Tove Lo, Pusha T, Toro Y Moi, and Jezzabell Doran.

Performance

Flume was able to bring Sega Bodega and TSHA as supporting acts along with Kučka

As a result of technical difficulties and time limits, Sega Bodega was sadly unable to perform. Sega Bodega is an Irish-Scottish music producer who is also a singer and a DJ. Hopefully, he can make his return to Arizona to showcase his talent! You can learn more about Sega Bodega here

TSHA is a rapidly emerging electronic artist coming out from the UK. She has been seen as a confident creative who is constantly developing and refining her own distinct feel and sound. Her set featured fun colors and good vibes. She did a great job at warming up the crowd and getting the night going. To learn more and see upcoming tour dates, you can click here

Flume’s set was absolutely incredible. As soon as he took the stage, everyone was drawn in. He started his set off strong with his remix of disclosure’s “You & Me”. It felt as if all the stress and worries at the raceway peacefully melted way. Fans were screaming and dancing in excitement throughout his whole set. Flume played “Smoke & Retribution” (ft. Vince Staples), where Kučka was able to sing and perform with him along with “ESCAPE”. We also had the pleasure of hearing songs off his most recent album, Palaces, like “I Can’t Tell” ft. LAUREL. As the night continued on, we heard classics like “Drop The Game” ft. Chet Faker, “Say It” ft. Tove Lo, “Sleepless” ft. Jezzabell Doran and “Never Be Like You” ft. Kai.

Vendors

The Phoenix Raceway also hosted a number of various vendors for food, drink, and shopping!

Attendees were able to choose from many options such as tacos, quesadillas, burgers, chicken tenders, and more. They also offered vegan pizza and wraps. For drinks, there were plenty of options that included beers, selzters, and cocktails. I am going to give an honorable mention to Maui Wowi Hawaiian that featured a variety of frozen cocktails, lemonades, and smoothies.

Apparel vendors included Kandies World, Fascinations, Waz Shop, Elite Wear, Moon Lvnding, and more!

Conclusion

Overall, I had a great time and would highly recommend his tour to all my fellow music lovers. For more information on Flume, you can check out his website here to see all his upcoming tour dates, shop for merch, and see his latest song releases!

Be sure to follow Relentless Beats for all the latest info on the next upcoming shows!

Zeds Dead Set Hearts On Fire At The 8th Annual Deadrocks!

This past weekend on July 2nd & 3rd of 2022 was the eighth annual Deadrocks at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Morrison, CO. This incredible two-night event is produced by the iconic electronic duo, Zeds Dead, and happens every July since 2014. The boys were here this past weekend to not only celebrate the return of this annual event but to showcase many up-and-coming artists.

Location, Layout, and Production

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is located in Morrison, CO which is only 20 minutes outside of Denver. This unique venue has been a major bucket list item for many past and present artists. Red Rocks has four spacious parking lots along with an accessibility shuttle to take patrons to row 1 for events. Once inside, you’ll be able to experience the beauty of the rocks, the views of the city, and the stunning stage production. The stage consisted of many speakers to carry the sound, large LED boards to show visuals, lots of lasers, and some projections that shined onto the rocks.

Food and Drink

Concession stands with food and drink options are located throughout the amphitheater. Food options include chicken fingers, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, pretzels, pizza, candy, and chips. For drinks, attendees have options for draft and canned beers, wine, margaritas, Coke products, Red Bull, iced tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and water are also available. The weekend featured a mixture of EDM genres. Attendees were able to enjoy the sounds of bass, dubstep, downtime, psytrance, drum & bass, house, and surrealist club-pop. All of these artists were truly incredible to see perform live. I would highly recommend following them on socials as well as grabbing a ticket to their next show.

Zeds Dead fans got to feel a sense of euphoria during the boys’ set on both nights. The duo played so many tracks that fans have been “chasing” for years. Some of these recognizable tracks included Zeds Dead’s remix of Kiss by Jeuce, No Prayers with Omar LinX, Shut Up & Sing by Greta Svabo Bech (ZD Remix), Flickers by Son Lux (ZD Remix) and many more.
