chicago skyline for arc

From August 30th to September 1st in Chicago, Arc Music Festival returns to Union Park for what is starting to feel like a tradition for house music and the Chi’. In its fourth year, Arc Music Festival is embracing the idea of home by showcasing a lineup of some of the best house music DJs in the world, combined with many from Chicago.

As every year goes by, the momentum behind Arius Presents grows. They’re using that to switch up not just who is playing, but how they are playing, and where.

This year’s Arc showcases a long list of B2Bs that only happen in a place like Chicago, as the biggest one will be when Carl Cox and Green Velvet play together at the Expansions stage. People in the crowd will have the chance to experience an epic and energy filled moment with every track played.

Over at the elrow stage, they are not only using a new theme called the Kaos Garden, but also including some great duos. Two highlights include Gene Ferris B2B Marshall Jefferson and Eats Everything B2B Sonny Fodera.

Techno heads will also feel the B2B love at the 909 stage, a tribute to the highway that connects Chicago and Detroit, where Carl Craig and Moodymann will join forces to show the love in that classic Motor City way. The Grid is doing something I had hoped for by showcasing house legends like the one and only Honey Dijon. She is perfect for this festival and this stage, as she represents not just where house music has been but also where it is going. Her style, sound and love will be one of the peaks of the weekend for so many of us on the dance floor.

So few festivals can offer what Arc does this year, as it merges music and art with a beautiful city you will never forget. For those making their first pilgrimage to the Windy City, what awaits us is a place overflowing with culture, food, life and so much more that simply can’t be described.

For others, it’s a return to what feels like a home we will always have now. The idea behind Arc is that wherever you end up, Chicago will give you an experience that only that one city can. When you leave, you’ll spend all year long wondering when it will be time to go home to house music again.

Tickets are now at tier five, selling fast at $428 for GA and $749 for VIP. The three-day festival will return to Union Park, where the Grid stage will be bigger than ever, the Expansions will be one with nature, the elrow will be wild, and the 909 will be bumping all weekend long.

The music and the vibe will be as Chicago as it gets. See you there.
