As we chug along through Summer, more and more options for adventures keep popping up! It seems like everywhere you look there are lineups being dropped with the best in the business. Our heads are rolling with all the possibilities. The month of August is packed to the brim with great festivals, both near and far. We’ve narrowed down 10 of our favorites. Let’s dive in.

#1 Woodstock #50, August 16 – 18th, Watkins Glenn, NY
The historical Woodstock returns to celebrate its bicentennial. Congratulations Woodstock, we wouldn’t be here without you. Although not at the original fairgrounds, Woodstock aims to encapsulate all that it stood for back then, peace, love, and community. Gracing the stages this year are The Ranconteurs, The Killers, Dead & Company, Greta Van Fleet, Jay – Z, Imagine Dragons, The Black Keys, Santana, Cage The Elephant, and Halsey, with more in tow. Tickets aren’t on sale yet so be sure to stay tuned.

Outside Lands achieves the summer vibe by offering many things. An incredibly scenic venue with a botanical garden, breath taking mountain and sky views, plus a huge array of vendors, with a focus on artisan food and drink, these aren’t your back alley food trucks friends. #4 515 Alive, August 16th – 17th, Des Moines, Iowa
Although the festival itself has been shortened by two days compared to last year, 515 Alive brings some heat with the artists it’s padded its lineup with. It’s still the same festival you love, just a tiny bit smaller. Very limited camping spots are available so lock your spot in soon. #5 HARD Summer, August 3rd and 4th, Fontana, California
Everything we love about HARD and their crew will be present for the first weekend in August. Taking over a slick motor speedway, this two day festival brings bass and booty shaking. Its simple, come in, come party, take off. Headliners this year are sure to please with Dillion Francis, Excision with Allison Wonderland, Kid Cudi, and Major Lazer, leading the charge. Alongside them are Zhu with Tchami, Kayzo, Claude Vonstroke, Space Jesus, Ghastly, 12th Planet, and Kill The Noise.

#6 Reading Festival, August 22nd – 25th, Reading, United Kingdom
Even though this show is already sold out, there was no chance of it not being on this Top 10. Reading Festival is a historic Rock and Roll UK festival, whose stages have seen the greats all the way from The Rolling Stones, to The Who, to System Of A Down. If you’re looking for an international show outside of the electronic scene, this is a great fit. They’ve always done a great job at diversifying their lineups, and the three days of music are sure to please. Headliners this year are A Day To Remember, Bastille, Billie Eilish, Anderson .Paak, Foo Fighters, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, The Wombats, The Distillers, The Story So Far, Machine Gun Kelly, in addition to a lineup stacked with support artists.

#7 Lollapalooza, August 1st – 4th, Chicago, Illinois
Lollapalooza pulled out the stops this year. If you’ve ever visited Chicago, you’ve probably been to Grant Park. If you’ve ever been to Grant Park, you probably know that its one of the best spots to throw a festival. The Lollapalooza team had figured out that formula ages ago, when they first decided to throw this massive show. They’re offering tons of amenities for festival attendees this year, including ritzy VIP packages, rent-able cabanas with exclusive views, and ticket/hotel packages. If you’re not impressed yet, get a taste of the lineup. These are just a few of the amazing acts set to play over the course of the four day party: The Strokes, The Chainsmokers, Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, Tenacious D, Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers, Louis The Child, Death Cab For Cutie, Ghostmane, and Hozier.

ARISE Music Festival shines brightly alongside the other Colorado crown jewels. Known for its excellent vibes, beautiful scenery, and tailored music selection, this festival is more than a weekend long party. Locals will tell you that ARISE is one of the most refreshing parts of the camping season, and everyone leaves feeling uplifted and recharged. Nestled in the foothills of the Rockies, it’s a camping dream. The focus isn’t just music either. The ARISE team has at their core always believed in giving back to the planet and humanity. In addition to being a leave no trace event, for every ticket sold, the show helps plant a tree in recovering eco-systems. Throughout the weekend there will be a number of yoga instructors and leaders, plus tons of workshops to explore. The lineup this year features a round of double sets from Tipper, Leftover Salmon, and Railroad Earth. Plus performances by CloZee, Sunsquabi, Beats Antique, Defunk, Maddy O’Neal, Goopsteppa, and Homemade Spaceship.

#10 Shambala, August 9th – 12th, Salmo River Ranch, British Columbia
One of Canada’s largest festivals, Shambala, could not be left out of this top 10. Someone would go so far to say that Shambala is like the Electric Forest of The Great White North. The forest around the mountains comes alive, with tailored art installations that create otherworldly pathways to new and exciting adventures. The stages are intimate, the setting is beautiful, and the people are loving and full of communal hospitality. There is a reason Shambala sells out almost every year. Three epic nights is not enough to cover all the ground this festival has to offer. The lineup is amazing, with performances that will tear the house down. Taking the stages are, Bonobo, Jauz, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead, Silk City, Kaskade, FKJ, Nero, 1000 Volts, Champagne Drip, Downlink, Ivy Lab, Reid Speed, Spag Heddy, and Subtronics, Mija, Minnesota, and Truth.

That concludes another top 10! Don’t be discouraged if you can’t make it to any of the shows this month, there’s always September. Plus, the season has no sign of slowing down. We always do our best to bring your the intel on the best shows and festivals so stay on the look out for next month’s segment to get the intel on all of the best festivals.
