Junkanoo

Junkanoo is the most popular annual festival in the Bahamas. The festival is celebrated in the town of West Grand Bahama from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day. The festival showcases the best of Bahamian music and costume design. Junkanoo showcases various genres of music, such as rake ‘n’ scrape, reggae, and calypso. Famous Caribbean-based groups, such as the Valley Boys and the Shell Saxon Superstars, provided the festival’s widely known “Junkanoo sound”. The sound derives from West African folk music and consists of instruments such as goatskin drums and cowbells. Groove Cruise

This festival is far from your average cruise party. Since 2004, Groove Cruise is a one-of-a-kind five-day experience for EDM fans who like to party on the seven seas. The festival ship sails from Miami to the town of Freeport in the Bahamas. In previous years, iconic DJs in the EDM scene, such as Claude Vonstroke and Above and Beyond, have performed on the decks of the Royal Caribbean. The festival has not released any information regarding its concert dates for its nineteenth rendition in January of 2023. Days of Summer Music Festival

Days of Summer Music Festival is an essential festival for hip hop fans that are heading to the Bahamas. Host DJ Khaled and his merry band of hip hop superstars will take over the Norwegian Sky ship from July 1st through the 4th of this summer. Festival attendees are spoiled with gorgeous amenities with every reservation. This includes 24-hour room service and artist meet-and-greets. Lil Baby is the only artist on the lineup this year. Eleuthera Pineapple Festival

Located in the town of Eleuthera, the Pineapple Festival is a unique experience for both music and food fans. The festival contains fire dancers, pineapple eating contests, and a wide variety of music talent. Local artists D-Mac and Puzzle have graced the festival’s main stage with their unique style and sound. Lineups and dates for this year’s festival have not been announced. It is expected to be held early in the coming June, 2022.

Rock Boat

The 22nd annual Rock Boat will delight rock fans of all spectra. The festival takes place aboard the Norwegian Pearl from January 22-28 in 2023. Rock Boat will sail from Miami and land at both Puerto Planta in the Dominican Republic and Nassau in the Bahamas. Neon Trees, NEED TO BREATHE, and Lit will take center stage at the festival.
