311 return to Red Rocks later this month for an event called Amber Horizons. Fresh off their Tiny Desk performance, this underrated band never goes out of style. And Saturday, June 29th will be the new 311 Day in Denver as the amphitheater pulsates with the bands’ signature reggae and rap influence.

311’s lineup has remained the same for the past 34 years, which speaks to their longevity. Nick Hexum’s reggae-laced style always meshed well with Doug “S.A.” Martinez’s rap vocals. Equally important are Aaron P-Nut Willis, who shreds the bass, and Tim Mahoney, whose guitar playing is bar-none. And drummer Chad Sexton’s skills are unmatched. What more could you need?

This crew found their rhythm and never let it go. For the past three decades, 311 have released 13 studio albums, two live albums, four compilation albums, four EPs, and four DVDs. They’ve played countless shows and started their own holiday, cruise and festival.

Then, they teamed up with Nebraska Brewing Company and Rock Brother Brewing to create 311 Amber Ale in 2015. Soon after, in 2017, they introduced a cannabis vape pen called Grassroots Uplifter, with version two debuting in California in 2018. All in all, 311 have been busy and they are everywhere.

June 29th marks the 19th time that 311 will play Red Rocks, and it’s almost 28 years to the day since they played their first show there. The geologically formed natural acoustics of the open-air venue are a bonus for a band like 311. The sloped, all-seated venue has a 9,500 capacity and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The jaw-dropping scenery adds the perfect ambiance for 311. A bucket list venue for many, it’s a match made in musical heaven. The legendary band even own a piece of Red Rocks.

Joining 311 for Amber Horizons is Iration, DENM, Artikal Sound System, and Man with a Mission, adding up to a reggae-filled night. With such a long career, 311 have quite the following. Thus tickets to this show are in high demand. Don’t sleep on getting yours via AXS to Amber Horizons: 311 Live at Red Rocks on Saturday, June 29th.
