Dillon Francis Sells Out Mission Ballroom

When Dillon Francis headlined Red Rocks’ Parade of Bass last summer, that show was confirmed as one of the venue’s most iconic. At Parade of Bass, Dillon Francis set off fireworks and a huge fire show. This weekend, concertgoers awaited at Mission Ballroom. It was the artist’s 2020 concert season debut in Denver.

The producer from Los Angeles caught his big music break with “Que Que”, collaborating with Diplo. Now, Dillon Francis has produced music for a decade since. Most recently, he worked with Alison Wonderland in 2019 to create “Lost My Mind”. Known for uniquely fusing house music and reggae, Dillon Francis boasts a lengthy discography. For instance, This Mixtape is Fire reached number one on Billboard’s Top Electronic/Dance chart in 2015. The album’s hit single “Coming Over” featuring Kygo and James Hersey has over 127 million streams on Spotify. Similarly, the artist’s song “Get Low” is platinum-certified with more than 500 million streams.

The Openers

Three electronic music duos began the night: Party Pupils, Ship Wrek, and Phantoms. Each opener performed for about forty-five minutes, hyping up the audience for the night’s headliner.

Pop artist Max Schneider (best known for his single “Lights Down Low”) and producer Ryan Siegel combined to create Party Pupils, a futuristic funk duo. The EDM partners quickly established positive and wild energy inside Mission Ballroom. Fans of the duo know their tracks “Ms. Jackson” and “Patient”. Party Pupils moreover showcased their undeniable talent and energetic performance style. Of course, the entire crowd enjoyed their set. Next up was Ship Wrek an up-and-coming house music duo. Ship Wrek quickly gained exposure and traction since debuting in 2018. Since artists Tripp Churchill and Collin Maguire have signed with Big Beat/Atlantic. Ship Wrek has plans to release new music this year. So, make sure to keep an eye out for the name!

Next, Phantoms took the stage. “Denver, are you with us?” the duo shouted, rallying the crowd before delivering a spectacular performance. Blue, green, and purple spotlights lit the venue during the final opening set. True to their name, Phantoms punctuated echoing electronic sounds with haunting vocals. The duo’s top singles contain the captivating voices of Vérité, Anna Clendening, and Vanessa Hudgens. Phantoms created a mystical ambiance full of energetic drops.

Dillon Francis’s Stunning Set

Midnight fell upon Mission Ballroom. Nevertheless, the party had just begun. Finally, the eagerly-awaited headliner began his show. Lights, fire, spectacle: Dillon Francis wowed the crowd immediately. Fans went wild as Francis performed nonstop bangers. Paired with thrilling visuals, this show was not one to miss. Confetti fired from cannons. Columns of fire blasted from the stage. Immediately, it was clear that the artist had a wild night of music planned for Denver.

Later, Dillon Francis live-mixed the songs “Lost My Mind” with “Coming Over”, beautifully combining two fan favorites. The result? An absolute banger showcasing the artist’s talent. Spinning visuals and purple light dominated the stage. Simultaneously, the DJ expertly transitioned James Hersey‘s soulful voice with Alison Wonderland‘s edgy vocals. Hypnotic strobing light matched the song’s drop.

Likewise, G-Eazy’s “Say Less” vocals were mixed into Francis’s eclectic continuous mixes. Francis’s compartmentalization of popular songs may hint at the release of new music soon. Constantly, rave music blasted through the venue all night. And naturally, Dillon Francis never disappointed. Songs from 2019’s Magic Is Real album had the crowd going wild.


After amazing performances from all four artists, the night came to an end. Dillon Francis performed into the early morning, keeping the crowd jumping up and down. With a tour currently in progress, fans across the country can see the EDM legend.
