What could be better than crisp desert nights, live music, and one of the best art line-ups? Consider all of that combined with the largest gem and mineral show in the country. You’ll find yourself at Gem & Jam 2020

Gem & Jam Festival

After a year-long hiatus, The 13th Annual Gem & Jam will be held at Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona. The event will be going on January 31- February 2nd. This year’s line up is nothing short of a festival-goer’s dream. Who can resist, when names like Dave Tipper and Big Gigantic are announced as headliners for this event? Gem & Jam never fails to create an unforgettable experience, and this is definitely one you won’t want to miss!

The Line-Up to Please All

This year Gem & Jam draws us in with a monumental electronic experience, while still staying true to its acoustic roots. Folk and electro bluegrass mash-ups like Dirtwire, Twiddle, and Billy Strings are bringing us the most dance-able, down to earth twang that feels so natural in the deserts of the southwest. Not to mention the super group TH3, which features Jason Hann, Michael Travis, and Kyle Hollingsworth of the String Cheese Incident. As an extra special treat, Hollingsworth will double up on the line-up with The Kyle Hollingsworth band.

Along with these refreshingly analog sounds, we have an especially intriguing variety of music to look forward to. Buku and Mersiv will be  bringing us some powerful dubstep. The Floozies will undoubtedly serve up their electro funk that never fails to bring an amazing energy to the crowd. This year’s line-up definitely  has something great for everybody to enjoy. Manic focus, Blue Tech, Marvel Years, Thriftworks, Desert Dwellers, and Cofresi are just a few others on the phase-one line up to look forward to.

Other Activities Besides Music

Not only is the musical line up hard-hitting, you’ll of course be able to enjoy the Tucson Gem Show, which boasts an average of 55,000 visitors each year. Shuttles leave from festival grounds by the hour each day, so feel free to indulge in some crystal hunting before making it back to enjoy a night of unforgettable art, food and music.

Alongside such great music and daytime activities, some of the best visionary artists are known to fill up the gallery will be there. There’s always a chance to discover something new with live painters and art installations spread throughout the festival grounds. Every moment is truly a possibility for fun and wonder. Past years have brought major artists such as Chris Dyer, Alex and Allison Grey and Seth McMahon, creating massive collaborations and murals.
